Musnad Ahmad Hadith 12482

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! So-and-so has a garden, I want to build my wall there, please order him to give me that place so that I can erect my wall." The Prophet (ﷺ) told the concerned man, "Give him that place in exchange for a tree in Paradise," but he refused. Abu Dahdah (may Allah be pleased with him) found out, so he went to him and said, "Sell your garden to me in exchange for my garden." He sold it. After buying it, he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "I have bought that garden in exchange for my garden, please give it to that person, for I have given this garden to you." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (ﷺ) said several times, "How excellent are the bunches of dates for Abu Dahdah in Paradise." After that, he went to his wife and said, "O Umm Dahdah! Leave this garden, for I have sold it in exchange for a garden in Paradise." His wife said, "What a successful trade!"
