حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَامِلَهُ فَنَكَتَهُنَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ: " هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ " وَقَالَ: بِيَدِهِ خَلْفَ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: " وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ " قَالَ: وَأَوْمَأَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ قَالَ: " وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ " ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) placed his fingers on the ground and said: "This is the son of Adam." Then he lifted them and placed them a little behind and said: "This is his death." Then he moved his hand forward and said three times: "These are his hopes."
