حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ " قُلْتُ: فَأَنْتُمْ كَيْفَ كنتم (١) تَصْنَعُونَ؟ قَالَ: " كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform a new ablution for every prayer. The narrator asked Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "What did you people do?" He replied, "We used to perform several prayers with a single ablution until we became without ablution."
