حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: " مَا أَكَلَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خِوَانٍ، وَلَا، ، فِي سُكُرُّجَةٍ، وَلَا خُبِزَ لَهُ مُرَقَّقٌ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ: فَعَلَامَ كَانُوا يَأْكُلُونَ؟ قَالَ: " عَلَى السُّفَرِ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) never ate on a table or in small bowls, nor was fine bread ever baked for him. The narrator asked, "Then on what did he eat his food?" He replied, "On dining cloths (dastarkhwan)."
