حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شُمَيْطٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ الْحَنَفِيَّ، يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِنَّ الْمَسْأَلَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ إِلَّا لِثَلَاثَةٍ: لِذِي فَقْرٍ مُدْقِعٍ، أَوْ لِذِي غُرْمٍ مُفْظِعٍ، أَوْ لِذِي دَمٍ مُوجِعٍ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Asking (for help) is only permissible in one of three cases: a man who is close to death, a debt that overwhelms, and poverty that brings one to the ground.
