Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that regarding the divine statement of the Prophet (ﷺ), "When his Lord manifested His glory," he explained that only as much of the manifestation appeared as the edge of a little finger. Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Mu'adh showed the manner of the finger, so Humaid At-Tawil said to him, "O Abu Muhammad! What do you mean by this?" He struck his chest forcefully with one hand and said, "Humaid! Who are you and what are you? Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this to me from the Prophet (ﷺ), and you are asking what is meant by this?"
