Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "No one has been harmed in the way of Allah as much as I have been harmed, and no one has been frightened in the way of Allah as much as I have been frightened. There came a time upon me when three days and three nights passed and I did not have enough food for myself or my family that any living being with a liver could eat, except for what Bilal had under his arm."
