حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ: ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَهْرَمُ ابْنُ آدَمَ، وَتَبْقَى مِنْهُ اثْنَتَانِ: الْحِرْصُ، وَالْأَمَلُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: A person grows old, but two things always remain in him: desire and hope.
