حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ، كَانُوا يَفْتَتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ ": بِ {الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ} (١) [الفاتحة: ٢] "،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) and the three Caliphs (may Allah be pleased with them) used to begin the recitation in prayer with "Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alamin."
