حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ زَاذَوَيْهِ قَالَ: قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ: " نُهِينَا - أَوْ قَالَ: أُمِرْنَا - أَنْ لَا نَزِيدَ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَيْكُمْ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) commanded us that in reply to the greeting of the People of the Book, do not say anything more than "Wa Alaikum."
