حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ أَنَسًا حَدَّثَهُمْ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ "، فَاشْتَدَّ (١) فِي ذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَالَ: " لَيَنْتَهُنَّ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، أَوْ لَتُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ " (٢)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: What is the matter with people that during prayer they raise their eyes towards the sky and look? The Prophet (ﷺ) strongly forbade this and said: People should refrain from this, otherwise their eyesight will be taken away.
