حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، وَيَزِيدُ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَلْعَبُ مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ، " فَأَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ يَزِيدُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ عَلَيْنَا - وَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَبَعَثَنِي فِي حَاجَةٍ، وَقَعَدَ فِي ظِلِّ حَائِطٍ أَوْ جِدَارٍ، حَتَّى رَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ، فَبَلَّغْتُ الرِّسَالَةَ الَّتِي بَعَثَنِي فِيهَا "، فَلَمَّا أَتَيْتُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَتْ: مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ قُلْتُ: بَعَثَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَاجَةٍ لَهُ، قَالَتْ: وَمَا هِيَ؟ قُلْتُ سِرٌّ، قَالَتْ: احْفَظْ، ، عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِرَّهُ، قَالَ: فَمَا حَدَّثْتُ بِهِ أَحَدًا بَعْدُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was playing with children, when the Prophet (ﷺ) came and greeted us with salam. Then he took my hand and sent me on an errand, and he himself sat in the shade of a wall until I returned and delivered the message with which the Prophet (ﷺ) had sent me. When I reached home, Umm Sulaim (may Allah be pleased with her) (my mother) asked, "Why were you so late?" I told her that the Prophet (ﷺ) had sent me on an errand. She asked, "What was the errand?" I said, "It is a secret." She said, "Then protect the secret of the Prophet (ﷺ)." Thus, after that, I never disclosed it to anyone.
