Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Hunayn, when the Muslims initially suffered defeat and began to flee, Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) called out and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Have those who have deserted us killed." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Umm Sulaym! Allah is sufficient." After a short while, Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her, and Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) had a spade in her hand. He asked, "Umm Sulaym! What is this?" She replied, "If any polytheist comes near me, I will rip open his belly with it." Upon hearing this, he said, "O Messenger of Allah! Just see what Umm Sulaym is saying."
