Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting, a state of drowsiness overtook him. Then he raised his head smiling. The people asked the reason for his smile, so he said that just now a surah has been revealed to me. Then he recited the whole Surah Al-Kawthar after saying "Bismillah" and said, "Do you know what Al-Kawthar is?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "It is a river in Paradise which my Lord has promised me. There will be abundant goodness on it, and on the Day of Resurrection my followers will come to it, and the vessels of this river will be as numerous as the stars. One of the people will be pulled away from it, and I will say, 'O Lord! He is one of my followers.' I will be told, 'You do not know what innovations they introduced after you.'"
