حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ: أَخْبَرَنَا، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، وَيُونُسُ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا ". قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَذَا (٢) أَنْصُرُهُ مَظْلُومًا، فَكَيْفَ أَنْصُرُهُ إِذَا كَانَ ظَالِمًا؟ قَالَ: " تَحْجُزُهُ تَمْنَعُهُ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ نَصْرُهُ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or the oppressed. Someone asked, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! It is understandable to help the oppressed, but how should we help the oppressor? He replied: Stop him from committing oppression; that is his help.
