حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " أَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ (٣) الْمَفْرُوضَةِ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ، وَأَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللهِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُحَرَّمَ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: After the obligatory prayers, the most virtuous prayer is the one performed in the middle part of the night, and after the fasts of Ramadan, the most virtuous fast is that of the month of Allah which you call Muharram.
