Ziyad Harithi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a man came to Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "Are you the one who forbids people from fasting on the day of Friday?" He replied, "No, by Allah! By the Lord of this Sacred House, I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: 'None of you should fast only on Friday, unless it is his regular practice.'" Then another man came and said, "O Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), are you the one who forbids people from praying while wearing shoes?" He replied, "No, by the Lord of this Sacred House, I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) himself standing in this very place, praying while wearing shoes and then leaving."
