حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ، وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ، فَإِنْ أَمَرَ بِتَقْوَى وَعَدَلَ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ بِذَلِكَ أَجْرًا، وَإِنْ أَمَرَ بِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ، فَإِنَّ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُ (٣) " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The ruler is a shield; fighting is done behind him and through him, piety is adopted. If he gives a ruling based on piety and justice, he will be rewarded for it, and if he gives any wrong ruling besides that, its burden will be upon him.
