حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبٌ، وَأَبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَى أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، أَنْ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَغَارُ، وَإِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يَغَارُ، وَغَيْرَةُ اللهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A believer is possessive (has protective jealousy), and Allah is even more possessive. And a part of Allah's possessiveness is that a person should avoid those things which Allah has declared unlawful.
