حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ آدَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا، فَاخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ فِيهَا وَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ، فَالْيَوْمُ لَنَا وَلِلْيَهُودِ غَدًا (١) وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ، لِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ، وَلِلنَّصَارَى يَوْمُ الْأَحَدِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Friday was also made obligatory upon the people before us, but they differed regarding it, whereas Allah guided us in this matter. Thus, now people follow us concerning this day. The day after (Saturday) is for the Jews, and the day after that (Sunday) is for the Christians.
