Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَمِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يُكْنَى بِكُنْيَتِهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) forbade adopting his kunyah (patronymic name).
