حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (٢) ، قَالَ: " إِنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ دَاوُدَ قَالَ: أَطُوفُ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ، فَتَلِدُ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يَضْرِبُ بِالسَّيْفِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ. وَلَمْ يَسْتَثْنِ، قَالَ: فَطَافَ فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ، فَلَمْ تَلِدْ مِنْهُنَّ غَيْرُ امْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، وَلَدَتْ نِصْفَ، ، إِنْسَانٍ " قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَوْ أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَالَ: إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ، لَوَلَدَتْ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يَضْرِبُ بِالسَّيْفِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once Sulaiman said, "Tonight I will go around to a hundred women. Each of them will give birth to a boy who will fight in the way of Allah." On this occasion, he forgot to say "InshaAllah" (if Allah wills). As a result, only one of his wives gave birth to an incomplete child. Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If he had said InshaAllah, then truly a hundred sons would have been born to him, and all of them would have fought in the way of Allah."
