حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَدِمَ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدَّوْسِيُّ وَأَصْحَابُهُ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ دَوْسًا قَدْ عَصَتْ وَأَبَتْ، فَادْعُ اللهَ عَلَيْهَا. قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَيْهِ، فَقُلْتُ: هَلَكَتْ دَوْسٌ. فَقَالَ: " اللهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا، وَأْتِ بِهَا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Tufail bin Amr Dausi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "The people of the tribe of Daus are persistent in disobedience and denial, so please supplicate against them." Thereupon, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) turned towards the Qiblah and raised both hands. The people said, "The people of the tribe of Daus are destroyed." But the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) prayed three times, "O Allah! Grant guidance to the tribe of Daus and bring them here."
