حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، قَالَ:، ، لَمَّا حَضَرَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ: لَا تُتْبِعُونِي بِمِجْمَرٍ، وَأَسْرِعُوا بِي، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا وُضِعَ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ قَالَ: أَسْرِعُوا بِي، وَإِذَا وُضِعَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ قَالَ: وَيْلَاهُ أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ بِي؟ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abdur Rahman bin Mehran (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when the time of the death of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) approached, he began to say: "Do not set up any tent over me, do not take fire with me, and take me quickly, because I heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: When a righteous man is placed on the bier, he says, 'Take me forward quickly, take me forward quickly,' and if a sinful man is placed on the bier, he says, 'Alas! Where are you taking me?'"
