حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ بِثَلَاثٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، لَسْتُ بِتَارِكِهِنَّ فِي سَفَرٍ وَلَا حَضَرٍ: " صَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، وَنَوْمٍ عَلَى وَتْرٍ، وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى "، قَالَ: " ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَ أُوهِمَ (١) ، فَجَعَلَ رَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى لِلْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) advised three things, which I will never abandon whether on a journey or at home: (1) to perform the Witr prayer before sleeping, (2) to fast three days every month, (3) to offer two units of the Duha (forenoon) prayer. Later, Hasan began to mention "the Friday bath" in its place.
