حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ، فَإِنَّمَا أَهْلَكَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَثْرَةُ سُؤَالِهِمْ، وَاخْتِلَافُهُمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ، وَلَكِنْ مَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا، وَمَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "As long as I leave you regarding a matter, you too leave me regarding it, because the nations before you were destroyed only due to their excessive questioning and differing with their prophets. Whatever I forbid you from, abstain from it, and whatever I command you to do, do it to the best of your ability."
