Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " تُسْتَأْمَرُ الْيَتِيمَةُ فِي، ، نَفْسِهَا، فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ فَهُوَ إِذْنُهَا، وَإِنْ أَبَتْ فَلَا جَوَازَ عَلَيْهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Permission should be sought from a virgin girl for marriage; if she remains silent, then this will be considered as her permission, and if she refuses, then there is no justification for forcing her.
