حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَيْسَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ تَبِعَهَا (١) حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي الْقَبْرِ، فَقِيرَاطَانِ " (٢) ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، مَا الْقِيرَاطُ؟ قَالَ: " مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever offers the funeral prayer for someone will receive a reward equal to one qirat, and whoever waits until the burial is completed will receive a reward equal to two qirats. The narrator says: I asked Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), "What is meant by qirat?" He replied: "It is equal to the mountain of Uhud."
