Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: كُلُّ الْعَمَلِ كَفَّارَةٌ، إِلَّا الصَّوْمَ، وَالصَّوْمُ لِي، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated with the same chain that I heard Abul Qasim (peace be upon him) say that Allah Almighty has said: Every deed is an expiation except for fasting; fasting is especially for Me, and I Myself will reward it.
