حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنْ وَجَدْتُ مَعَ امْرَأَتِي رَجُلًا أُمْهِلُهُ حَتَّى آتِيَ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated with the same chain that Sa'd bin 'Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), if I see a strange man with my wife in an inappropriate situation, should I leave him and first go to find four witnesses?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Yes!" (Later, this ruling was changed with the law of li'an, the details of which are mentioned in the first section of Surah An-Nur.)
