Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ رَجُلاً يَتَوَضَّأُ فَقَالَ
لاَ تُسْرِفْ لاَ تُسْرِفْ

Translation
English translation
It is narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:
"The Messenger of Allah saw a man performing ablution, and he said: 'Do not be extravagant, do not be extravagant (in using water).'" (Maudu')
