Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ
مَا أَسْكَرَ كَثِيرُهُ فَقَلِيلُهُ حَرَامٌ
.
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Whatever causes intoxication in large amounts, a small amount of it is (also) unlawful.”
