Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَتْ صَنَعْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ طَعَامًا فِيهِ مِنْ بَعْضِ الْبُقُولِ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ وَقَالَ
إِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُوذِيَ صَاحِبِي
.
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Umm Ayyub said:
“I made some food for the Prophet (ﷺ) in which there were some vegetables. He did not eat it, and he said: ‘I do not like to annoy my companion.’”
