Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ
مَا قُطِعَ مِنَ الْبَهِيمَةِ وَهِيَ حَيَّةٌ فَمَا قُطِعَ مِنْهَا فَهُوَ مَيْتَةٌ
.
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whatever is cut from an animal hen it is still alive, what is cut from it is Maitah (dead meat).”
