Original Arabic

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ، - مَوْلَى بَنِي لَيْثٍ - عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

‏ لاَ سَبَقَ إِلاَّ فِي خُفٍّ أَوْ حَافِرٍ ‏

‏ ‏.‏

Translation

English translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“There should be no prizes for racing except races with camels and horses.”
