MECCA: As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia starts receiving Hajj pilgrims from across the globe, Al Khaif Mosque has been reopened for them to pray after a two-year-long under COVID-19 related restrictions.
The ministry, represented by the Higher Committee for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit, has completed all necessary preparations to provide pilgrims with all needs to perform their rituals in full comfort and tranquility in a religious atmosphere.
The preparations of Khaif Mosque included furnishing, cleaning, sanitization, maintenance of the air conditioning system, lighting, readying more than 1,000 toilets, counters for Islamic awareness, fatwa cabinets, increasing the number of electronic monitors, and assigning maintenance companies to work round the clock for cleaning and maintenance and dispatching field supervisors on maintenance works.
Masjid Al Khyaf is located in the heart of Mina and holds a very important place.
Masjid Al Khyaf is also known as the Mosque of Prophets because numerous prophets are said to have prayed at this mosque, including Prophet Musa (AS).
The Khaif Mosque also holds great importance during Hajj as well.
This year, Hajj is expected to begin on the evening of Thursday, July 7, and end on the evening of Tuesday, 12 July.
According to the ministry, on the 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th & 13th of Zil Hajj, the holy month of Hajj, devotees will have the opportunity to pray.
